Changes, Changes, Changes.

So I've been in a sort of slump these past few weeks (basically this whole past 2 months). Things have been slow and I just haven't been up to par. I haven't been doing the thinks I want and should be doing/keeping the promises that I've made to myself.

But I've cleared up my head and am starting to get back into my regular creative groove so with that I'm going to be creating more and keeping up with this blog the way I want to.

So expect to see more posts a bit  more regularly.

The Real Work Begins.

So, I've been in the process of gathering my thoughts and ideas together and it's been a bit of a struggle actually. I know what it is that I want to do and how I want things to look more or less, but putting it all together in a manner that I feel accomplishes what I want is the hard part.

I've sketched a few things and at first I was just not feeling it at all. However, I began taking bits and pieces of what I did like and started to narrow things down.

I was making things much too complicated for myself and as much as I'd like to do some crazy looking or not so ordinary looking pieces, simplifying things down has helped so much.
Shape, shape, SHAPE!!! That's what I want to focus on, and especially around the shoulders and arms. I have an obsession with dropped shoulders and large couture like sleeves and the things I was coming up with at first hinted at that but were too complex and took away I felt, so again I've simplified.

This is pretty much where I've landed and I'm way more happy with this than what I came up with before. I've already begun work on the top on the far right (it's gonna be made out of leather). As for the others, I'm going fabric shopping this weekend and hope to find what I have in mind. Inspiration here.

Working on a 5 look line for this local showcase here in town. Just got the call today (which I missed) but I'm gonna call the representative and see what's up. The next one is next month which gives my plenty of time to get them done. Pretty excited cause this'll be my first time doing something outside of school, I'm just excited period.

Of course, it's a fall/winter line and I want to work on playing with volume and silhouettes not so close to the body. Playing with sleeve shapes, panels, etc. Basically taking this chance to experiment .
